My Conversation with Boges
As we get down to the stretch, the Celtics are asking themselves: what do we need? Well its clear they need help inside the paint. Signing 7 foot Center Mikki Moore definitly will considering his offensive skill and experience. In the play-offs he posted 10 points and 5.3 rebounds in his 15 games. So that will solidify the paint, but what else could they possibly need? Well theie back-up point guard situation is a little suspect, given the fact that Eddie House is not a true point. But he has managed not to hurt them in that second unit. However, when it comes down to it, he is a much better spot up shooter. So whose out there? They need a low risk player to run the second unit. How about Sam Casell? No, no we just traded him after he gave us little in last years play-offs and showed us how many bad shots he could take. Oh I know, how about that guy who has a head tatoo. Who? You know, the guy who Knicks didn't let play for a year because went crazy and told Isiah Thomas he expose him. Starbury? No Marbury. Why would they want that cancer on their team? Because if he goes nuts we can cut him and that will be that. Is it worth it? Of course, if everything goes as planned then they will have a guy who will know his role, and could put up 15 points off the bench. Ok, but what about team chemistry in the lockeroom? Once KG, P2, and Ray Ray, all sign off on this, they're going to sit down with him and explain the what this team is all about. Sure KG will baby-sit a little but he will keep him in check. Are you not worry about the resurgence of Starbury? Ya, I can't say im not, but once he touches down in Boston, I have faith he will turn in his cape and cowl for the sake of the team. And besides, he had like 10 years to be Starbury and reak havic through the league. This is certainly his last chance to salvage his career and tear away from his alter ego. Well if he is not a Chemistry killer, a super villian, or cancer then can he atleast still play at high level? I think thats the biggest question mark the Celtics have because he's low risk. Your right, he hasn't play in a year, so when he gets here, he will have an immediate positive impact to prove everyone wrong. This all to similiar to Randy Moss, lets just hope this goes down that same road. I want Starbury dead as much as the next guy but I will miss him.

Jordan or Kobe? You've got to be kidding me
Whose Better Kobe or Jordan? Im am so sick of this debate, because it is ridiculous. The fact that people make this debate is deplorable. You can't take the crown from a man who changed the game by himself. He brought the game to heights that have never been seen before. People who cared nothing for the bulls, watched them to see MJ. People tune in to see Kobe but they also tune in to see Lebron. Jordan was always on top, he had no equals, and if they began to compare him to another, he would go out and show them why his game was different and better. You can say that they have similar numbers and Kobe's were better at points in his career, but there is always going to be someone that puts up similar to better numbers at one point or another.
The only reason that Kobe get to be in this conversation is because of his numbers and his ability to mimic everything that Jordan used to do. I think that there no coencidence that Kobe changed his number to 24 a couple years ago. His hand gestures are the same. If you pay attention to him when he drives, he sticks his tougue out. It's things such as these that makes Kobe a level below Jordan. Jordan had a lot of great players to look up to but he never wanted to be like them, he wanted to be better. Kobe sees himself as the second coming of his Airness. In reality there is no second coming for anyone. Kobe can put up 61 at madison square garden, but people at the four letter network fail to realize that New York is a bad team. Jordan put up 63 points on the Boston Celtics in april of 86. The signifigance is that it was in the play-offs and the Celtic's were one of the Premiere defensive teams. My point is that Jordan played in a league where he was thee guy. There was no one else. Today's league has more the one, mainly because Kobe does not have the competitive drive to distinguish his game from everyone else. He is revered but not celebrated. He is in a band of two, where as Jordan was in an army of one.

Whose top cop?
Is it me or is David Stern the smartest Commissioner of the three major American sports? You have Football, which has it images problems and the occasional shoot em up moments, Baseball, which has been brought to its knees by the steroids scandals and seems to have a new person get caught for lying about substances every two days. Then there is Basketball who obviously has image problems and everything that football gets, but somehow they are able to either get rid of the story very quickly or find some way to downplay what has already been written. With the exception of the Referee scandel that got attention all summer, their really hasn't been an a real over the top scandal in David stern's reign as the commish. Ya you can say the ref scandal was over the top, but does'nt it seem odd that it just went away so quickly. Where as Roger Goodell had to deal with the spygate scandel, and let the government drag one of his most prized team of the decade through the mud. And to be honest Goodell did little to nothing to get the that story out of the papers. Sure he fined the team and the coach, but Stern would made that story go away. People all over the sports world are calling for Bud Selig job as a result of the steriod scandel. Must I say more? Not only has Stern turned the league away from their current issue but its like it never happened. Why is it like that? It's really because of the fact of how he potrayed the situation when confronted by the media. He totally downplayed the situation and told everyone that it was only one rogue referee. While it was discussed that their could possibly more refs involved, Stern treated it as if it was minor situation. Whenever asked, he never faltered, he just stuck with the same story. Now here we are today, its the friday of the allstar game and Stern is celebrating his twenty fitfh year as Commishioner of the NBA. Genius! While most would have crumbled, Stern refused to let one man take down his league. Selig would rather hide out then protect his player in times of crisis. Goddell couldn't keep the government away from his league. So would'nt one make the case that David Stern is top cop in the world of proffesional sports. I sure would.

A-Fraud... No thats not right, It's A-Roid!!
Well what can i say, it's been a long time but Im back. Your favorite loudest and proudest sports blogger has returned and this time I sound off on A-Rod. Now being from Boston Im taught to hate anyone who has ever put on a Yankee hat and that goes for former RedSox's(rrr Johnny Da... stop we need not say it!) to Yankee fans. Back in 2003 I was, like everyone else in town, was pleading with A-Roid to play short-stop for the Sox. When it did'nt happen I was Pissed. Then the Rivilary came around and he was at the forefront of it. From that moment on, I couldnt stand the man and look foward to the post-season, mainly because I knew he wouldnt preform. Fast foward a couple of years and well I still cant stand him. But for A-Rod, thats all he had to worry about. While he obviously failed to handle the pressure, he still got to count his money and party like a movie star. With the current steriods era, names were dropped every week, but none of them him. Well that all changed February 6. Once his name showed up in those files, a career that was hall of fame bound is now in question. In the court of public opinion, his career is tarnished. Now, to A-Rod's credit, he did exactly what he should have done which was to just come clean. Doing that saves him from the courts, the hearings and most of all,the FBI. It may not seem like it but while it is black mark on baseball, people will breathe a sigh of relief to hear A-Rod say that he F'd up. It does'nt make him any less guilty, it just makes people feel better. However, if A-Rod could'nt stomach the pressure before, look out now because everytime he steps into Fenway, hes going to throw up.
