The war on CRIME!! No steriods... so we think

To be quite honest, this Roger Clemens and Brian Mcnamee issue is all just a media circus. I cannot believe that it has come to a hearing with all the media and people viewing. This right now is the biggest topic in sports, and thats sad because this is the worst issue baseball has ever had to deal with. The last hearing that took place in 2005 amounted to nothing. No closure came of it and people were left with nothing but lingering accusations. We have to ask ourselves why congress is so interested in trapping baseball players who have done steriods in the past. Besides the easy answer that it is damaging to thier body and that it effects children, thier is an underlying answer. Thier is so much more going on in the world today with the war and issue that effect the US directly such crime poverty and improving race relations. So congress feels the need to go after high profile baseball players who do steriods. Yes, I understand that it is illegal, and people go to jail for these offenses, but to make a media frenzy out of it is deplorable. I can garauntee that nothing will come of this hearing and people will continue to speculate. All congress will get Clemens on is perjury.
This has nothing to do with steriods at this point because everyone already believes he did it anyway. In my opinion people are looking to pubicly destroy his name the same way they did to Barry Bonds. As he said yesterday during the hearing, he is never going to restore his name and it is going to be difficult to set the record straight without hardcore evidence.
Let be honest, if this were really a war on steriods they would be going after everyone who ever used performance enhancing drugs, from Sammy Sosa to Jose Guillen. Sense 90% of baseball did juice, they would have to get rid of baseball's brightest stars and srcubs. Then that means they lose a boat load of money and they don't want that. If you notice they only do all of this for the biggest stars. They make it a media cirus for ratings and to make a profit off of it. The only truth is that cash rules everything around baseball and steriods.

The end of the undying machine

Before I begin, I would like apologize to any Redskin's, Cowboy's, Bill's, Jet's, Doplhin's fan that I ever laughed at. Why? Because now you laugh at me, histerically. While I would like to pretend that Sunday never happened and that we actually play this weekend, I can't. Sunday night at approximitely 10:30 PM, our precious dynasty was killed, they stormed our kingdom and slaughtered everyone. The Patriots castle Gresco exploded and they hit rock bottom. They lost to Eli "The Punk" Manning. All the Pats needed was one play, and we thought that play happened on two occasions. Eli is in the pocket and is basically sacked but then somehow escapes and bombs it. The ball is caught and the city of Boston begins to drink whiskey from the bottle. If anyone would have told me last Friday that Eli "The Punk" Manning was going to come into our kingdom and destroy the undying machine, I would patted them on the back and brought them a shot. This is the worst loss in Boston sports history. It is reminisent of how the 2003 Red Sox season ended but ten times worse. The Patriots defense let the punk drive down the field on them and score a touchdown uncontested. If you would have told me las friday that was going to happen I would have told you to drink more.
So now as we get ready to be depressed for the next two months, there are atleast a couple of things to look forward to.
1. The celtics in the play-offs
2. SPRING TRAINING!!
3. Revenge on the NFL and "The Punk"
If you hav'nt noticed by now "The Punk" is public enemy number 1, pushing his brother back to number 2. Don't be surprised if the winning streak is ressurected one more time, fueled by the punk's miracle throw. And if nothing else, the Boston - New York rivalry has just evolved.

The Great Debate: 85 Bears or 07 Patriots

And with one more win the 2007 New England Patriots will drill into everyone's head that they are the best team to ever grace a 100 yard football field. Or Will they? There has been much speculation that the Patriots will be up there as one of the top two teams in NFL history. Now with a win on sunday that would take care of the 72 Miami Dolphins, but then who does that leave besides the Pats? Sources coming out of Arizona say they are still willing to place the 1985 Chicago Bears on top of the Patriots. Looking up the stats from that historical 85 Bears season and matching them to the 07 Patriots, i have come up with the way to prove that the Patriots are the better team.
1. Let start obviously with the quarterbacks. We all what Tom Brady did this year, but even more astonishing than that is what he did'nt do much of. He didn't throw many interceptions, in fact he only threw 8. Why is that unbelievable you ask? Its unbelievable because their offense threw the ball more 80 percent of the time! Brady finished up with a completion percentage of 68.9, which is highest among QB's in the league. His QB rating was career high 117.2 In 85, Jim McMahon got hurt for part of the season and ended up with 56.9 completion percentage. His QB rating was 82.6 and he only threw for 15 TD's and had 11 interceptions. Im sure Rex Grossman probably could do better than that. The only thing Jim beat Tom in is his ability to scramble out of the pocket. But still, Edge Tom Brady
2.The tailback situation in New England was in the beginning non-existant. But then the weather got bad and the ground game attack picked up and Maroney ended up rushing for 835 yards with six TD's. On the other hand Walter Payton had a stellar year on the ground picking over 1500 yards with 9 TD's. Edge Walter Payton
3. The recieving core for New England is beyond anything that anyone has ever seen. The team was ranked number 1 in total offense. It seems as if Brady has an answer for every defense. The team score a record 589 points this season while Wes Welker and Randy Moss had a season for the ages. The Bears recieving core does'nt really compare to the Pats because their leading reciever, Willie Gault had 1 touchdown for 704 yards. The Bears offense ranked 7th overall that year. The rest of thier recievers were pretty mediocre. Edge New England
4. The argument starts to turn in favor of the Bears when it comes to defense. The 85 Bears defense ranked 1st in the league while the Patriots defense ranks only 4th. The Bears front 4 is significantly better than New England's and they had some pretty dominating victory's with thier defense. Richard Dent had 17 sacks that year while Otis Smith had 10. Mike Vrabel lead the Patriots with 12 sacks while Adalius Thomas had 6. The leader of the Bears Defense Mike Singletary had only 3 sacks, but he still edges the leader of the Patriot defense Tedy Bruschi who only had 2. Edge Bears
These two teams in a lot of ways are similiar accept for the fact the Bear released a debut video called the Superbowl Shuffle down the stretch of the season. The Patriots scored dominating victories with their offense. The Bears had dominating victories with thier defense. Some say they are better because they had more dominating victories down the stretch of the season. While the Patriots have'nt won the superbowl yet they have won every game in all sorts of ways. On February 3, if the Patriots Beat the Giants thier is no doubt that they are the greatest team because they never lost and the 85 Bears did.
